Hi all, alot has happened since my last post. Winter Park Resort has opened for its 70th season, Thanksgiving has come and gone, the Christmas trees for the Lions Club lot have been off loaded and are selling like hotcakes and last but not least the Christmas tree festival was last weekend. This year 24 trees and 1 wreath were decorated by 25 non-profits and sold to the highest bidder. Each tree was then wrapped up and delivered as instructed by the bidder. This year 6 trees were purchased and donated to families in need. Another sign of what a great community this is!

I finally got out and took a few runs. The snow is great for early skiing. A few good cruisers helped to wake up those legs.

2 days and counting....

Only 2 days until Winter Park Resort opens for the 2009/2010 season. Fresh natural snow with snowmaking should start things out right!

The snow is flying! Up to 2 feet tonight they say!
Just in time for Winter Park Resort's opening on Wednesday!

It is hard to miss that winter is here, after a week when Denver areas received over 3 feet of snow. Winter Park Resort reported 8 inches and the snow guns are working hard to be ready for opening day, NOVEMBER 18th.

Halloween was a kick with Grand Park and Cooper Creek Square, among many others, providing great spots for the little and big goblins to fill their buckets with goodies. This year the Town of Winter Park and Fraser joined Granby in having a Scarecrow contest. Driving through the towns was quite a kick. I can see this one growing in years to come.

Christmas is only 55 days away!!! Tick, tick, tick......

Well here goes! If this shows as a duplicate, don't be surprised. I have not "blogged" before so I may make a mistake or two but be patient, I'll get the swing of things soon enough.

I will be posting everthing from upcoming community activities to real estate market stats to anything I think is just fun! If you would like more info on anything I post just respond and I'll see what I can provide.

To start off, The Friends of the Libary's 21st annual Progressive Dinner is coming up on Wednesday, December 2nd. There will be 3 routes this year (1 bus and 2 walking) so be sure to make your reservation early. The cost is $50 for a four course meal and lots of fun. For more info or to make your reservations contact kmikol@gcld.org or call 970-726-5689

WINTER Park resort opens November 18th. Tune up those skis or boards and be ready for another great year.
